BANTEAY MEANCHEY: Lim Sovannarith is a 14-year-old boy from Banteay Meanchey who has made several remote control toys from discarded items.

Living in Prey Russey village, Sangkat Preah Ponlea, Serey Sophorn city, Banteay Meanchey province, he drew the attention of the public to his many toy creations made from recycled materials, including remote-controlled mini-harvesters, cars and tractors.

"I mix this material with discarded items and scrap materials such as cans, pipes, shells, foam plates and so on," said Lim Sovannarith.

He demonstrated the control of the harvester he made, which took about a week and cost about 40,000 riel (US $10).

As a freshman in 8th grade, Lim Sovannarith aspires to become a designer in the future.
